DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – A new program in Washtenaw County is helping people who are having a rough time paying their water bill.

The Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program is available to help Washtenaw County residents who are behind on their water bills or are facing shutoffs.

The program can provide eligible households with up to $650 to pay reconnection fees or past-due water or wastewater bills.

Households can qualify for the program if their income is 150% below the federal poverty guidelines.
