KALAMAZOO, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The price of utilities are going up in Kalamazoo.
Water and wastewater rates in Kalamazoo are increasing 20%. The city commission unanimously approved the rate hike on Monday night, with the public works department saying the increased is needed to cover rising costs tied to inflation and supply chain problems.
The higher rates will also help pay for lead pipe replacement.
