HOLLAND, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Celebrating fall in the West Michigan community of Holland has less to do with pumpkins and leaves and more to do with planting tulip bulbs.
Tulip Time organizers say the need help plating 85,000 bulbs at Window on the Waterfront. Volunteers have already begun digging on Friday, but there are spots open to help on Saturday at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m.
Tools will be provided, but you might want to bring your own gardening gloves. Participants also need to sign up online.
In addition, a fall festival that’s taking place in downtown Holland will include some of the traditional harvest activities. It will feature pumpkin carving by some of the nation’s best professional pumpkin carvers.
In addition, kids can paint pumpkins while the adults check out the artisan vendor market at Windmill Island Gardens.
