TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The CherryT Ball Drop in Traverse City is ready to go for New Year’s Eve.

This year, the 600-pound lit-up cherry is moving to a new location at the corner of Cass and Front Street.

Event organizers say one end of Cass and Front Streets will start to close around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Gates will open around 10:30 p.m. They are expecting an upwards of 10,000 people.

The annual event has been going strong for 13 years.
