LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Gas prices in Michigan continue to fall. AAA Michigan says it is now $3.24 per gallon, which is 85-cents lower than last month and four-cents higher than last year.
The most expensive gas hailed from Traverse City at $3.53 while metro Detroit’s $3.10 boasted the lowest price.

Meanwhile, these lower gas prices are expected to affect the number of people traveling for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. AAA Michigan estimates that more than 3.5 million Michiganders will travel at least 50 miles for the holidays between December 23 and January 2.
That is 110,000 more than last year and is predicted to be the third-busiest holiday travel period for the state.
More than 3.2 million will drive; nearly 200,000 will fly somewhere while 115,000 will use other transportation modes.
