WESTLAND, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – A long-abandoned psychiatric hospital, which is rumored to be haunted, will soon get a $4 million renovation to turn it into a hotel, restaurant, and haunted attraction.

The former Eloise Psychiatric Hospital in Westland closed in 1984.

Redevelopment of the property and remaining structures has been complicated by contamination.

The project is supported by a $695,000 brownfield grant.

Several blighted structures will be removed as part of this project, while two historic buildings will be preserved.
