BATH TOWNSHIP, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – No charges will be filed in a police shooting by a Bath Township officer in Clinton County that left a 24-year-old man on Jan. 2.
After the Michigan State Police turned over the shooting investigation to the Clinton County Prosecutor’s Office, officials there ruled the shooting was “a reasonable use of force given the circumstances at hand at the time of the shooting.”

The shooting happened at the Dutch Hills Mobile Home Park where police responded to a domestic violence call between a son and his mother.
Body camera footage shows a man pointing what police believed was a gun at officer and the mother. He was shot several times. Police said the man’s handguns turned out to be replicas.
The Bath Township Police Department said its own investigation did not find violations of policies or procedures.
