KALAMAZOO, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Kalamazoo County Government and the City of Kalamazoo have declared a local state of emergency due to the widespread impacts from this week’s snow and ice storm.
Close to 40% of residents lost power after the storm trees and power lines, which caused widespread power outages
and damages to public infrastructure.

City officials said in a press release that it’s exhausted available resources to fully respond and recover. Some customers may not see power restored until Monday, with others have been told their power may remain off until March.
