MORLEY, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office said rescuers saved a 43-year-old Stanwood man from falling through the ice and drowning on Sunday afternoon.

Officials say the rescue happened in Latimer Park in the Village of Morley. A witness saw him flailing in the water and yelling for help.

First responders arrived and crawled out about 100 feet on the thin ice until they reached him and pulled him out.
