LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Michigan State Police are warning of scam calls from a telephone number that appears to be coming from a newspaper in the state.
The con artists tell people they are under an investigation or need to give them money to prevent an arrest with warrants for them from Texas.
Michigan State Police officials say they will not ask anyone to send them money over the phone and add if anyone calls them from, they will always identify themselves by name and rank and will give a badge number if asked.
