SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – A national search is being launched for a new president at Lake Superior State University (LSSU).
The LSSU Board of Trustees announced this week they have accepted the resignation of Dr. Rodney Hanley as president. He had served in that role since July 2018 and LSSU has selected provost and vice president for academic affairs Dr. Lynn Gillette as their interim president.
In February, Dr. Hanley and his wife announced a $1,200 scholarship called the “Rodney S. Hanley and Sara Gunhus-Hanley LGBTQ+ Endowed Scholarship.” It’s scheduled to be awarded in the spring to a student who “exemplifies leadership and service within the university LGBTQ+ community, study, and research vis-à-vis LGBTQ+ issues and a commitment to supporting the progress of LGBTQ+ civil rights movements.”
