GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Recycling facilities in Kent County are now using robots and artificial intelligence.
A grant from the state’s Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE) has provided the facilities with four robots, three of which use artificial intelligence (AI).

The robots help sort materials more quickly and efficiently and the new technology even helps separate metals like copper and lead from other materials using magnets.
The Kent County Recycling and Education Center says those who want to see the robots in action can do so on Mondays during open hours from 9 a.m. to noon.
