FLINT, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Flint native and female boxer Claressa Shields is considered one of the best. As a matter of fact, she is the self-proclaimed greatest female boxer of all time.
On Wednesday, she received another award to help backup that claim.
Shields became the first woman to win the ESPN ESPY award for “Best Boxer.” She she was nominated alongside three male boxers.
ESPY Awards, short for Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Award, are given out annually by ABC and ESPN to recognize excellence in individual and team sports.
