IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Recent renovations to the VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain revealed a 75-year-old surprise.

When taking down a wall, workers found a time capsule that the first workers placed in the wall when the structure was built.

A glass jar, surrounded by metal mesh, was found in Building 6. That was originally built in 1948; at the time, it served as the nurse’s quarters.

Inside the jar was a typed piece of paper with all the names of those who were working at the then new facility.

There’s no word if the current staff plans to put in their own time capsule.
