MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Officers from the Muskegon Heights Police Department (MHPD) rescued 22 dogs from an alleged dog fighting ring on Friday.

Police investigated four residences in Muskegon Heights and one in Norton Shores before rescuing the dogs. They discovered one deceased. Police arrested four people; three are charged with dog fighting and one had a warrant for their arrest.

Authorities said they expect to arrest more people they believe are involved in the ring based on the evidence found during the investigation.
