LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Michiganders will get an early Christmas present this week if clear skies prevail.
The Geminids meteor shower, considered the strongest and most reliable meteor shower of the year, will reach its peak on Late Thursday night and into Friday morning.

There’s an added bonus this year. On that night, the moon will be only 1 percent full, and will create the best viewing conditions.
NASA officials said dark skies in rural areas will provide viewing for bright, fast, “gorgeously green” meteors at rates above one per minute.
