BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Battle Creek Executive Airport is soaring after a $350,000 federal grant for improvements has been cleared for takeoff.

Officials said the grant from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Federal Aviation Administration Contract Tower Program will allow the airport’s tower to undergo some much needed improvements. The program is funding 20 projects nationwide.

This is the second year the airport received the grant. Last year, it received $725,000. That money went towards an airfield lighting control and monitoring system.
