Good habits for the time change include allowing extra time when waking up so the commute isn’t rushed. Once on the road, turn on the headlights and keep at least a three-foot distance when passing a cyclist. Eliminating distractions is an important safety tip, too.

In addition, use the time change to implement safety in your home. Check batteries in smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors.
