GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – A new task force will examine the Kent County deer population and determine if the county has a problem with the wildlife. Grand Rapids Public Services managing director James Hurt says they are having issues with deer eating people’s vegetation and shrubs that need to be addressed. Kent County Road Commission director Jerry Byrne says deer are everywhere in the county and they need a long-term plan and solution. The task force will work with Grand Valley State University on a deer population assessment and are also considering a public survey.
