EAST LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – A woman who is lactose-intolerant is suing East Lansing-based Biggby Coffee for charging extra for non-dairy alternatives.
Leslie Bower filed the lawsuit on Wednesday. She accused the coffee chain of violating the Americans with Disabilities Act because it charges between 50-cents and $1 for oat milk, almond milk, coconut milk, and lactose-free milk.

The lawsuit says Biggby has earned at least $50 million over several years from the “discriminatory and illegal levying of the surcharge.” Biggby has roughly 400 stores in a dozen states.
