DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – Federal prosecutors allege former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is lying about his address.
Officials claim in a new court filing that Kilpatrick is pretending to live in Georgia to avoid paying $1.5 million in restitution after he was convicted in a public corruption case.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Jessica Nathan wrote in a brief that the home Kilpatrick allegedly lives in in Georgia is listed for sale. In addition, it appears to be vacant or staged while his mail is being returned or rerouted back to Michigan. Kilpatrick says he doesn’t believe he owes the government any money.
The documents were filed earlier this week, just hours before he spoke at the Oakland County Republican Party’s Lincoln Day Dinner.
