WALKER, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Police arrested a man in Walker on Friday outside a rally for Former President Donald Trump.

Walker Police Chief Keith Mankel said the person drove around a checkpoint and ignored police orders. A short pursuit led to an arrest. The incident did not disrupt the rally and Mankel said the suspect never made it to the protected area.

Mankel said claims of explosives turned out to be false.

The suspect will be arraigned on Monday in the 59th District Court on several charges, including a false report or threat of terrorism along with fleeing police and resisting a police officer.

There have been two attempted assassinations on Trump’s life since July.
