SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The Soo Locks project is moving along on schedule.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced earlier this month that the Soo Locks Project project has substantially completed Phase 2. That phase includes the upstream approach walls for the new lock.

Minor electrical work is expected to be completed by the end of October.

The new lock is being built in three phases. The total project continues to be on track for completion in 2030.
