LAPEER, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – A trial that started Wednesday in Lapeer County ended on Friday with the guilty verdict of a 40-year-old man who killed his girlfriend on August 2, 2024.
Michael Schocke will spend the rest of his life in prison with no chance of parole for killing his girlfriend, 38-year-old Jennifer Ann Pilotto, in her home just outside of Columbiaville. In addition, the jury found Schocke guilty of felony firearm charges.

On the night Schocke killed Pilotto, she barricaded herself in a bedroom with her two children. They were let out and their mother told them to run. Schocke later admitted to dispatchers he had killed Pilotto.
