FLINT, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – More arrests have been made in Genesee County this week after the sheriff’s department announced the recent arrest of five people connected to alleged human trafficking.
During a briefing, Sheriff Chris Swanson presented several cases recently handled by the Genesee Human Oppression Strike Team (GHOST). Swanson said some of the suspects resided in Genesee County while others drove long distances for meetings with alleged criminal intent. He said some predators will drive for hours to meet with a vulnerable minor.
Since 2018, Swanson said GHOST has arrested 241 predators. He said statistics indicate each person held accountable saves 25 potential victims, which amounts to more than 6,000 people who may have been saved. In addition, Swanson said GHOST is now global. Operations often involve other counties, states, and countries.
