LOWELL, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Two people are dead after the small plane they were in crashed into a self-storage facility in Kent County on Monday afternoon.
The crash sparked a fire that required the efforts of 15 departments to put out the flames. It happened near the Lowell City Airport. As of Tuesday morning, the bodies have not been identified.

One eyewitness told WOOD-TV he saw the crash while he was driving. He told the news outlet the plane took a nosedive. “[I] saw a huge ball of flames. I instantly called 911,” said the witness.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash.
