IONIA, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – A 45-year-old Michigan woman faces charges related to a crash earlier this year that injured four high school students on their way to a college visit.
Court documents show Angela Fitzgerald had THC in her system while driving the bus carrying 11 high school students and four adults from Grand Rapids Civic Theatre on March 29. The bus reportedly veered off I-96 near Portland and hit a guardrail.

THC is the active ingredient in marijuana.
When interviewed on scene, the documents reveal deputies said Fitzgerald told them she had not “consumed alcohol in months…but advised deputies that she takes prescription medication.”
One student injured in the crash underwent a foot amputation. The other three students suffered a concussion, a bloody nose, and head and foot pain respectively.
Fitzgerald’s next scheduled court date is August 20.
