HOUGHTON LAKE, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – After eight years of loyal service, a retiring Michigan State Police K9 officer received a well-deserved celebration.
Loki and his handler, Trooper Adam Whited, graduated from the 51st MSP Canine School in 2017 and have served side by side since then. The team responded to 985 calls for service, rescued lost people, and aided in criminal cases.

State Rep. Ken Borton (R-Gaylord) paid tribute to the special law enforcement duo in his district.
“In the eight years since Loki joined the MSP, his training, demeanor, performance, and obedience have made Houghton Lake a safer place to live, work, and raise a family,” Borton said. “We also want to make sure we thank Trooper Whited for the dedication, patience, and care he has shown Loki, who is surely one of the most important and unsung heroes of the Michigan State Police family.”
