WASHINGTON, D.C. (Michigan News Source) – Drivers gearing up for Christmas and New Year’s celebrations can do so with cheaper prices at the gas pumps.
AAA reports the national average dropped again in the past week to $2.85. Michigan’s prices keep heading in the right direction, too. Drivers will pay around $2.78 per gallon when filling up.

According to AAA, this is the cheapest December at the pump in five years. Officials said crude oil prices remain low. In addition, supply is strong even as the demand for gas increases over the holidays.
The trend for the past year shows gas prices dropping and stabilizing since President Donald Trump took office in January. One year ago, gas prices averaged $3.03.
