LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Many Michiganders are headed “up north” for the Memorial Day weekend, and higher gas prices don’t seem to be deterring any plans.

As of Saturday morning, AAA reported that Michigan’s average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gas was $4.67.  That’s about 14 cents higher than the national average.

AAA says almost all of the 1.3 million Michigan travelers are taking road trips, which marks the second highest on record. In addition, 70,000 Michigan residents will fly, while more than 68,000 will travel by bus, train or cruise ship.
