LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Two recent polls show GOP U.S. Senate candidate Mike Rogers leading all three Democrat opponents.
Numbers from the Glengariff Group for the Detroit Regional Chamber and reporting by MIRS shows Rogers with a narrow lead over Democratic Senate hopefuls Abdul El-Sayed, U.S. Rep. Haley Stevens, and State Senator Mallory McMorrow (D-Royal Oak).

Greg Manz, Senior Communications Advisor to the Michigan Republican Party, said Democrats in Michigan have spent years driving up costs and moving manufacturing jobs out of state.
“While Michigan Democrats defend dangerous illegal immigrants and embrace anti-police extremism, Mike Rogers has spent his career locking up criminals and fighting to keep families safe.”
He added, “Haley Stevens, Mallory McMorrow, and Abdul El-Sayed are far too radical for Michigan and cannot be trusted with the safety and security of Michigan communities,” Manz added.
Recently, El-Sayed boasted a ten point lead over his opponents, and received the backing of 17 Michigan pastors. McMorrow has come under fire for deleted social media posts that disparaged Michiganders. In addition, a watchdog group is asking for an investigation into her residency and voting timelines in California prior to her move to Michigan.
The recent poll numbers could give Rogers the momentum already set in motion by Michigan voters. The state backed President Donald Trump in 2024 and 2016.
Although Michigan is known for its swing state status during recent elections, Democratic Senator Gary Peters has held his seat since 2015. He is retiring.
Prior to Peters, former Democratic Senator Carl Levin held the seat for 36 years. Michigan is also represented by U.S. Senator Elissa Slotkin. She won the seat in 2024 after Senator Debbie Stabenow retired in 2024. She’d held the seat since 2001.
Michigan’s primary election is Tuesday, Aug. 4.
