DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – A 41-year-old woman from Macomb County was arrested for operating while intoxicated (OWI) and fleeing from police in Ogemaw County.

On Monday, Michigan State Police troopers attempted to stop a vehicle traveling north on M-33 in Rose Township after clocking it at 80 mph in a 55 mph zone.

The driver ignored the trooper’s attempt to initiate a traffic stop and continued driving away. Per Michigan State Police policy, troopers did not pursue the vehicle.

About 10 minutes later, the trooper located the vehicle parked at a gas station in Rose City.

The woman was taken into custody on charges of fourth-degree fleeing and eluding and felony operating while intoxicated, third offense.

Her name was not released.
