Initially, the presentation called for about $2500 dollars to be paid to qualifying workers. However, Commissioner Veronica McKissack thinks that amount should be $7500.
The board has yet to define the term “essential employee.”
The recommended plan would pay about 258 employees for work done in 2020 and 457 employees for work in 2021.
Feedback from Tuesday’s meeting will be applied to a formal presentation for the next Board of Commissioners meeting.
It would take $3.5 million to make the $7500 payments. The money comes from the federal stimulus through the American Rescue Plan Act.
