Grand Rapids Public Schools (GRPS) received more than $114-million dollars in federal funds. However, supply chain problems and labor shortages are making it challenging to make the June 2024 spending deadline.
The school district has plans for campus renovations, along with infrastructure and technology updates.
This problem isn’t just affecting GRPS. It’s a problem plaguing districts all over Michigan and the U.S.
GRPS leaders are expected to ask the federal government for an extension to the spending deadline.
