LANSING, Mich. (Great Lakes News) – COVID-19 cases are on the decline in Michigan.
Michigan reported almost 4,300 confirmed coronavirus cases on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The seven day average is now down to 2195, the lowest average since September 13, 2021.
Deaths are also down to 75 in the last week from 82 a week ago. There are currently just under 1,900 adult patients and 71 pediatric patients being treated in hospitals across the state.
Currently just under 65 percent of Michiganders have received at least one shot vaccine shot.
On Wednesday, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s administration stopped recommending that masks be worn inside schools and other public places.
At the same time, Whitmer signed legislation to spend $1.2 billion in federal funds to fight the coronavirus.
