ST. IGNACE, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The water level of Lake Superior rose by eight inches between April and May.
That’s the fourth-largest jump on record since 1918 and the largest increase since 2001.

All five of the Great Lakes rose in May, which experts say is normal for the spring. However, none rose faster Lake Superior.
Despite the increases, most of the Great Lakes are still at lower points than they’ve been in recent Mays.
