LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – A group fighting against developers scores a major victory.

The Michigan Supreme Court ruled in favor of the Saugatuck Dunes Coastal Alliance as they fight against a proposed development.

The ruling allows the group to argue in circuit court against the proposed development that will alter six-and-a-half acres of Michigan’s critical dunes, remove 250,000 tons of sand, and change the natural contour for the purposes of a private yacht marina.

The Alliance argues the developers plans violate local zoning ordinances.

The case will now wind up before an Allegan County judge.
