LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Starting this fall, online harvest reporting is required for all hunters who successfully take a deer, according to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR).
The move comes after last year’s testing of the DNR’s new reporting system. Nearly 7,000 deer hunters voluntarily reported their deer harvest online.

DNR officials said there are several reasons for the switch to online reporting, including a significant decrease in mailed survey response rates and the need for more precise data.
