LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – With early voting set to being in nine days and the November 8 election on the horizon, a recent EPIC-MRA poll is showing Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer with an 11-point lead over GOP challenger Tudor Dixon.

The Sept. 7-13 survey of 800 likely voters commissioned by MIRS, Governmental Consultant Services Inc. and the Life Insurance Association of Michigan shows Whitmer with a 51% to 40% lead over Dixon; Whitmer’s favorability polled at 51%-45% while Dixon’s favorability rating hovered between 34% to 44%.

In addition, the numbers indicate good news for Democratic incumbents Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson and Attorney General Dana Nessel.  Benson has a 33% to 22% favorable rating;  Nessel earned 31% to 28% favorable.

The poll was released one day before Michigan Freedom Fund announced a campaign ad that attempts to shows Nessel as a drinker and supporter of drag queens in public schools.

The other GOP top ticket contenders are struggling for name recognition, according to the poll. Of surveyed voters, 81% said they have never heard of Republican Secretary of State nominee Kristina Karamo. Meanwhile, 80% were not familiar with DePerno’s name.
Early voting begins September 29, while the general election will be held November 8.
