FLINT, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Flint Police are increasing the pay to its recruits for the first time since 2005.

The pay bump will increase from $11 per hour to $15 per hour and take effect immediately.

City officials hope it will attract new officers to Flint. Those who complete training and become full-time employees will take on the salary of a full-time officer.

Flint has been working hard to add officers including offering a signing bonus up to $7,000. It’s added 10 officers since 2020.
