LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The races for the top two jobs in Michigan – governor and attorney general – are facing thin margins in the final two week stretch before the election on November 8. Meanwhile, the race between the secretary of state candidates shows a gap.
According to a Michigan News Source/Trafalgar poll on Sunday, Democratic incumbent Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is in a dead heat with the GOP challenger Tudor Dixon. According to the poll, both candidates are holding at 48%.

The gubernatorial race has tightened in the two weeks since the first gubernatorial debate. Many media outlets identified Dixon as the clear winner in that debate against and underprepared and rattled Whitmer.
Both Whitmer and Dixon appeared on stage, albeit separately, at the Detroit Economic Club forum on Friday to discuss their ideas for moving Michigan forward. On Sunday, Whitmer started her “Getting Things Done” tour.
Gov. Whitmer and Dixon will take the debate stage for the second and final time on Tuesday, October 25 in Oakland County.
Meanwhile, the race between Democrat incumbent Attorney General Dana Nessel and Republican Matt DePerno is neck-and-neck.
However, don’t expect these two to take the debate stage before the election. In September, Nessel said she would not debate DePerno, who she referred to as a “white supremacist.” Several weeks ago, DePerno challenged Nessel to a debate in a parking lot.
The race for secretary of state looks a little different. A poll of 600 likely voters conducted by EPIC-MRA in early October found Benson leading Karamo 47-37, a ten-point margin. According to poll, 71% of those surveyed said they didn’t recognize Karamo’s name.
The election is two weeks from today on November 8.
