DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – One Michigan business owner is ready to make a big splash.

Mat Ishbia, the owner of United Wholesale Mortgage, is set to purchase the NBA’s Phoenix Suns for $4 billion, according to reports. That would be the largest price paid for a team in league history.

Ishbia says it’s always been a dream of his to own a sports franchise. The Phoenix Mercury of the WNBA is also part of the deal.

Ishbia graduated from Michigan State University and was a member of the 2000 national championship basketball team.

Last year, Ishbia donated $32 million to for a new football building at Michigan State.
