GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – A Christmas tree recycling program is set to get underway in Grand Rapids.

The Grand Rapids City Christmas Tree program is ready to recycle trees for residents.

There is drop-off disposal as well as curbside pickup. Trees are recycled into wood chips.

Drop-off sites will accept trees from December 30th through January 31st and include the city Compost and Yard Waste site and other parks in the city.

Here is a list of drop-off sites:

  • Riverside Park (north entrance): 2001 Monroe Ave. NE
  • MacKay-Jaycees Park: 2531 Kalamazoo Ave. SE
  • Lincoln Park (Garfield Ave. NW entrance): 231 Marion Ave. NW
  • Huff Park (Ball St. parking lot): 2286 Ball Ave. NE

The city says that you can also drop off trees at their Compose and Yard Waste Site. Winter hours are Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The address is 2001 Butterworth Rd SW.
