FLINT, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – For the first time in more than ten years, the City of Flint reached agreements with all six of its collective bargaining units.

That includes ratifying the Flint Police Associations contract which will increase hourly wages for entry-level positions.

The old contract put starting entry-level pay at $19.53 per hour.  That rate will see a $1 bump under the new contract.

In addition, current officers will see a pay increase. Experienced transfers will be offered a starting rate of $26 an hour.

Funding came from the American Rescue Plan for additional sign-on bonuses.

The department has the budget to pay 125 officers and is currently accepting applications.
