Henry Ford Health announced it will hire 600 registered nurses from the Philippines through 2025 in a historic international hiring wave.

The Philippines has a surplus of nurses. They are signing three-year agreements at salaries between $70,000 to $100,000 per year.

Nationally, the country needs 1 to 2 million more nurses. Michigan is 100,000 short of needed nurses.

To add insult to injury, 39% of nurses working in Michigan say they plan to leave their jobs.
