LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – If you have an emergency preparedness kit for your family, you’re off to a good start. However, you’ll need a second one for Fido.
In honor of National Pet Preparedness Month, the Michigan State Police, Emergency Management and Homeland Security Division are urging pet owners to prepare emergency kits for their pets.

Officials say you should prepare at least 10 days worth of water and food, along with medication and extra toys in the pet emergency preparedness kit.
Officials say to follow this rule: if you have emergency kits for you and your family, you should have one for your pets as well.
