LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Prosecutors are recommending a prison sentence for former Republican candidate Ryan Kelley. He pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor for his participation in the events at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.
Prosecutors cited Kelley’s lack of remorse and are urging a judge to lock him up for three months.

Kelley’s defense attorney said probation, not prison, is an appropriate sentence. Kelley is due back in court on October 17.
