LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – An investigation by Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel and her office determined that Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson violated the Michigan Campaign Finance Act (MCFA).
The ruling comes after the Michigan Republican Party filed a complaint that alleged Benson violated campaign finance law. Benson used the Richard H. Austin Building lobby to hold a press conference announcing her run for governor on January 22.
