BUFFALO, N.Y. (Michigan News Source) – March Madness is off to a good start for the University of Michigan men’s basketball team.

The Wolverines beat Howard 101-80 on Thursday night in the NCAA Tournament’s first round. They advanced to play either 8 seed Georgia or 9 seed Saint Louis on Saturday.

Michigan (32-3) is the No. 1 seed in Midwest Region and Big Ten regular-season champions by four games,. Morez Johnson Jr. scored 17 of his 21 points in the second half and added 10 rebounds. He made all eight of his shots.

Michigan’s 10-point lead as the second half got underway kept growing as time ticked off the clock.
