WASHINGTON, D.C. (Michigan News Source) – The U.S. Senate spent the early morning hours on Friday unanimously advancing a deal that would reopen most of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

The stalled legislation triggered jammed airports, disrupted travel, and forced financial hardship on TSA workers for the past 42 days.

The deal, which will now head back to the U.S. House, failed to fund Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). However, ICE is already funded through 2029.
